Year end message and updates

June 25, 2020

Good afternoon Husky families,

We hope everyone continues to do well.

This school year has been a challenge in many ways.  That being said there have been many positives we must not forget about.  From new JKs getting settled, to new Huskies joining our school community, the many in-school and extra-curricular achievements, making new friends, inspiring another student or friend, overcoming an obstacle, figuring out a math concept and many more.  Also, the incredible achievement of our Grade 8s graduating and heading-off to high school.  We wish you the best of luck, and look forward to celebrating with you in the fall.

I want to thank our incredible staff at Hillcrest for all they've done for each other, the community and for students - in particular during this challenging school closure time.  We have a very strong team here at Hillcrest.

To parents/guardians, thank you for supporting your children and the school through the ups and downs of the school year.  You all deserve a pat on the back.  Parenting is challenging enough, and with the added duty of home learning we can't thank you enough.  Great job!

To our volunteers - we can't do it without you.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who make a huge difference in many ways at the school

To students - we miss you all and can't wait to see you again in the fall.  You have been brave, optimistic and have persevered through the challenges.  You are resilient, and can overcome anything.  Please take some time to HAVE FUN during the summer.  But also, be safe.

We hope everyone has a wonderful summer.

On behalf of the staff,

K. Wilson
